The terror of the Band-Aid
10:10 a.m. & Monday, Apr. 28, 2003

Yesterday the weather was truly beautiful. We went to the playground, and all the little kids were running around without their jackets. Little bare arms! It just made me smile.

We played about sixteen rounds of hide-and-seek. "Here's mommy, 'hiding' in plain view, because there's no place on this playground to hide a grown-up! Sssssshhhhh!" Then we looked for flowerpots at the hardware store, and then J fell and scraped his hand on the sidewalk, and then we went home.

Just before bedtime J had an enormous crisis when I put some antibacterial ointment and a bandage on his scrape. Why? Because he dreads the pain of removing the bandage. Poor bean.

Fortunately, the bandage fell off all by itself while he slept. He was thrilled, and woke me at 5:30 to tell me the good news. "Well (yawn), sweetie, that's (yawn) GREAT! Zzzzzzzzzz."
