J has a new favorite phrase: "Well, I'll be a ding-dong-dang." He learned it from one of his Thomas the Tank Engine tapes. It's not very nice, I guess, but I just can't keep from laughing when he says it.

I bought him two new passenger cars and a set of tracks (with a bridge!) because he stopped chewing on his sleeves. As I said, I'm a terrible, bribing sort of mother.

My friend at work is going to leave us for the Army after all. She is a very impressive girl. Somehow she arranged to keep her boyfriend, too, even though she's leaving in a couple of weeks for basic training. I think he must like her or something.
